A few new shows to add to your TV watchlist
Calling all my reality TV show lovers. Looking for some new shows to binge? I got you covered with six of some of the best reality TV shows from around the globe available to stream and binge right now.
- Love Island All-Stars
-
This spinoff of the original Love Island coming out of the U.K. sees islanders from the past ten seasons come back to the villa looking for a second chance at love. Expect exes awkwardly reuniting, secret hookups being exposed and of course the constant stream of drama as these young singles continue in their pursuit of long-lasting relationships.
“Love Island All Stars” is streaming on Peacock.
- The Challenge Battle for a New Champion
-
The 39th installment of the popular game show, The Challenge Battle for a New Champion, sees contestants who lost in past seasons compete to win a prize pot that starts at $300,000. To be the best, they have to beat the best as contestants are pitted against previous champions in search of the title and money. The show is intense from the challenges to the drama happening both on and off-screen.
“The Challenge” Season 39 is streaming on Paramount + and airs Wednesday nights 8/7c on MTV.
- The Bachelor
-
After last season’s bachelorette, Charity Lawson, broke up with Joey Graziadei, we see him go on his own pursuit of love. The teaching tennis professional is looking for his perfect match by dating 32 singles from across North America with the hope that he will be down on one knee at the end. It is safe to say that Joey’s charm, charisma and easygoing temperament have more than just the ladies on screen swooning.
“The Bachelor” Season 28 airs Monday nights 8/7c on ABC and is streaming on Hulu.
- The Trust
-
This brand-new game show sees 11 strangers compete in a game of truths, lies and greed with the possibility of taking home a portion of a $250,000 prize. The aim? To form connections and avoid suspicious fellow contestants that can send you home. Will these strangers continue to share the prize pot or will greed get in the way, leading them to vote each other off the show? This competition of strategy is an easy eight-episode binge.
The first season of “The Trust” is available to stream on Netflix.
- Love is Blind Sweden
-
“Love is Blind” is, without a doubt, one of the most successful dating shows in recent times. Starting in the U.S. with spinoffs in Brazil and Japan, the newest installment comes out of Sweden. Following the same format of blind dating in the pods, getting engaged sight unseen, honeymooning before returning to reality and planning a wedding all in the space of 40 days, the Swedish version brings both romance and drama, including a secret baby scandal. Having the option to watch either with subtitles or dubbed, make sure to add this to your watchlist.
The complete season of “Love is Blind Sweden” (including the revealing reunion) is out now on Netflix.
- Married at First Sight Australia
-
In my biased opinion, “Married at First Sight Australia” is one of the best dating shows. This trial marriage-based series three relationship experts pair up strangers, who meet on their wedding day before being whisked away on a honeymoon. They live together in the same apartment building as their fellow contestants for several weeks. Dinner parties and commitment ceremonies occur at the end of each week with the hopes of building a long-lasting connection. Is the show successful? Rarely, but the drama the Australian version brings is great viewing. Warning: you will need a VPN to watch this.
“MAFS Australia” is available to watch on 9 Now. Connect your VPN to an Australian city, make a free account, and you are good to go.
