Meet this week’s campus profile: Josh Bote! He’s a freshman studying Biochemistry. Although he calls Cedarburg, Wisconsin home, he’s originally from Racine, Wisconsin.
What is your favorite part about being a Badger so far?
The people on campus. I have met so many cool people during my first month at UW through classes and other campus involvement.
What activities, or organizations, are you involved with on campus?
Swim Club UW, and I am considering joining the French Club.
What is your favorite spot on campus?
State Street, if that counts as a spot on campus. There are so many cafes, restaurants, and cool places to study and hang out. I like walking up and down State. I find new places to explore every time I go.
What do you like to do in your free time?
When I’m not doing schoolwork or swimming, I like to draw and paint.
What is your current favorite song? And your top three artists?
My current favorite song is Pyramids, from Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange. My top three artists are Lorde, Frank Ocean, and Rihanna.
What is the most recent TV show you binged? Favorite TV show?
I just finished Riverdale on Netflix. My favorite TV show is the X-Files (which, coincidentally, just got removed from Netflix).
What is your favorite movie?
Fight Club.
What is one fun fact about you?
I play the piano and often compose my own pieces.
Describe yourself in three words.
Complex, affectionate, creative.
What’s your dream job?
To be completely honest, I don’t have a dream job in mind. I might change my major; but for now, I’ll see where my college experience takes me. I hope to find something that I am truly passionate about. I’ll see where my interests line up; and hopefully, I’ll find a job that I love.
If you’re ever looking for someone to explore State Street with or someone to watch the new season of Riverdale with, find Josh Bote!
