Cheap Tricks for Great Curls

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Whether we’re searching for bouncy ringlets or romantic waves the perfect curls seem to elude almost all of us.

Curling is not only time consuming, and damaging; it’s expensive as well. With all the different sizes of curling irons, the product you put in before, the product you put in after…You’re dream curls could cost more than the hours of wear you’ll get out of them.

Ah, but no fears.  There are many cheap DIY ideas that can safely and inexpensively curl your hair.

Michelle Phan’s has a good tutorial on using a paper bag to curl your hair.

For those of us who struggle with the paper bag method here’s an easy wave enhancer.

My personal favorite is the DIY sea salt spray.

Look around your house and find an old toothbrush or coffee grounds to use.

You can also take old headband you never use and add some sparkle.

What’s the best part about these tips? They’re not only good for your hair, but your wallet as well!
