Ever wonder what guys think about Instagram? Do boys think girls are actually THAT good looking with filters? Is instagramming pictures of breakfast, lunch, and dinner too food crazy? Do guys really want to see your naked baby pictures? I spoke to 3 UW Madison students and found out their take on this newfound Instagram obsession…
1. What’s your take on food instas?
“I don’t pay attention to them. I don’t care what other people had for lunch much; it’s just not my thing I guess…”—Brian
“They annoy me, I don’t want to look at your food.”—Zack
“I don’t mind food Instagrams. But if I’m hungry you better tell me where you are so I can have some”—Jake
2. What do you think about #tbt (throw back Thursday)?
“Its adorable for everyone guys or girls. Its hard not to like it.”—Brian
“Live for that shit. Baby pictures are cool. And it’s just a good concept.”—Zack
“I don’t mind the baby pictures, but don’t tbt a picture that you took two days ago…that’s just not what’s supposed to happen.”—Jake
3. Do you like looking at selfies?
“I can’t say I’m a fan but if that’s your thing it’s your thing. However, when it’s done satirically I think its funny.”—Brian
“Personally not a fan. I prefer regular pictures.”—Zack
“Eh, depends on the girl…but, if it’s a mirror pic, I’m unfollowing you.”—Jake
–Guys may be okay with a Katy Perry selfie, however
4. How do you feel about the use of extreme filters?
“I don’t think much of it actually. It’s much worse in other countries like China or Japan where they have photo booths that Photoshop your eyes and skin for you instantly. So I guess it doesn’t bother me much here. It doesn’t change their appearance much.”—Brian
“I think the filters are cool but they make girls look a lot better than they are.”—Zack
“I don’t mind them, that’s what instagram is all about I think.”—Jake
So ladies, you can either take these tips to heart or completely ignore them. But let’s face it; we all know how much fun it is to take artsy pictures, even if they happen to be of yourself or your salad.
