The cutest boys are always the most dangerous.Â
If you’re a college student right now, you probably have heard about or are extremely invested in Euphoria. The show, developed by Sam Levinson, follows Rue (played by Zendaya), a recovering drug addict, and her classmates on Rue’s journey to recovery. While Rue’s story is phenomenal and Zendaya is well on her way to earning her second Emmy, the majority of viewers are enthralled by the love triangle going on between Maddy (played by Alexa Demie), Nate (played by Jacob Elordi) and Cassie (played by Sydney Sweeney). But that’s a whole other story.
Now, a love triangle is never going to end well, especially when it involves cheating, which is not okay even when the relationship is toxic. But something about Nate Jacobs, an emotional manipulator and a straight up toxic man, is just so fine. Yes, physically he looks amazing, but that should be canceled out when he does literal psychotic things, like break into someone’s house or catfish a girl as revenge. But the problem is, he looks so good doing these things.
Clearly, this man is a walking red flag, but those flags look green when he looks good. I know a lot of people find this man attractive, but we need to remember that no man is worth the sacrifice of your own well being! The part about finding Nate Jacobs attractive that is so bad is the fact that he is a realistic demonstration of how some boys believe they can act as if they are above everyone else. He exemplifies male privilege to the core as he continues to get away with everything, and that’s what makes his character so terrifying, regardless of the fact that he is attractive.
It is okay to find a man attractive, but as soon as those flags turn red, run the other way.Â
