The Last Farmers Market of the Season

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

When Badgers aren’t tailgating on a Saturday morning for a home football game, you can find them around the Capitol Square at the Dane County Farmers’ Market.  The Farmers’ Market is one of the highlights of living in the city of Madison, as vendors with fruits, veggies, meats, cheeses, flowers, pastries and more are lined up on every side around the Square.

Unfortunately, November 7th (last Sunday), was the last day of the Farmers’ Market around the Square for the fall. This is particularly upsetting because this means that winter is coming, making it too cold to have the Farmers’ Market outside, and I don’t think I’m ready for another Wisconsin winter yet.

It’s also upsetting because I have to wait until spring to get my hands on some just out-of-the-oven hot and spicy cheese-bread from Stella’s. If you haven’t tried this stuff, please do so ASAP because it is life changing!

You can still catch the Farmers’ Market from November 14th to December 19th from 7:30 a.m. to noon at Monona Terrace every Saturday. However, it’s just not the same as the excitement that surrounds the Square on Saturday mornings in the fall.

If you didn’t get out the Farmers’ Market this year, it’ll be back on the Square in the spring time!
