Motivational Things You Need to Hear Right Now

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

This time of the year is probably one of the hardest: school is almost over, and you can almost take a break, but there’s still a much work to be done. As the struggles of school and daily life become more challenging, it’s time to be your own cheerleader. So, here are some motivational things you need to hear right now. Read on…

To the stressed test taker…

Although school is challenging, you are smart enough to get good grades. Put in the work as you study and really test yourself on the material. Get to the exam early and get comfortable in your seat. Take a deep breath and remember that you can do it. Once the exam is over, treat yourself to some Starbucks or to a mini spa day in your apartment. Exams are hard and stressful; but remember how much work you have put in and don’t give up on yourself.

To the socially deprived…

With the end of the semester approaching, your workload is increasing majorly— even if your professor disagrees. You miss your friends and your stress-free hang out sesh all the time. You just have to last a few more days! Find a day to treat yourself. Go out to eat, have a movie night with your friends, or go get your nails done. Take that day to not have a care in the world. Remember that you deserve a break.

To the procrastinator…

We’ve all been there. You’ve put off your final project until the night before it’s due. Now you are forced to pull an all-nighter to finish your now mediocre project. First, some encouragement: you’re a procrastinator, so you’ll work well under pressure. Chug some coffee and get working. You’ve got this. Now for some advice: get organized. If you can plan out when you have to work on what project or study for which test, you will have a much better outcome. Also, give yourself a day long buffer. Write down that the assignment is due the day before the actual due date. Of course you will procrastinate, but now you will have an extra day to finish the assignment.

To the last minute gift giver…

I know how hard it is to find time to get gifts for people during the school year. At this point, it is just about too late to order anything online so now you’re stuck. If you can’t find the time to make a last minute mall trip, here are some ideas for last minute gifts: a small painting, homemade cookies, etc.— remember that making a gift is always an option. It can be done with things around your apartment, but it also shows that you care enough to put in the time. Another good option is photo gifts. Check out some of the photo gifts online and see if you can put a picture or quote on a coaster or a mug. These gifts are quick and relatively pain free. They are also usually ready within a few days, which is a major plus.

To the heart broken…

This season is one of the hardest to have your heart broken. With all the love and couple pictures filling your Instagram feed, it can be hard to be single. During this season, it is important to stay positive. You are loved by so many people in this world, and you have changed so many lives. Take this time to hang out with friends and family. Embrace their love and encouragement. Enjoy the snow, the delicious treats, and do something nice for yourself. Take this time off to clear your head and focus on yourself. You are worth it, and you will make it through this holiday season.

Hopefully, you have found some motivation in this article. Embrace your inner cheerleader and support yourself. Although this is a busy time of the year, make sure you take the time to treat yourself— you have worked so hard. I’ll leave you with this…always remember that you are the only person who can be yourself. Only you can rock your personality and you should be proud of who you are. Whether you are a stressed test taker or a heartbroken soul, embrace who you are and be proud to live in your own skin. You are perfectly unique.
