Raiding Your Roommate’s Closet

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

Your roommate has the BEST clothes, and you want everything she owns. Therefore, you have the urge to go through her stuff when she’s not there and find what you would steal… hypothetically of course. Come on, we all know you want to! Here are the top 3 things that people want to steal from their roommate’s closet.

Sweaters

A huge trend right now is the pairing of sweaters with leggings, which are super comfy for lazy days and can still be dressed up. The most popular types of sweaters right now are the long, tunic-like and oversized ones. With a scarf, some leggings, boots, and maybe a few bracelets, you’ll be all set

Boots

Boots are lovely for fall because they come in so many different styles, it’s ridiculous! Over-the knee, knee-high, and ankle booties are most popular right now, so if your roomie has some and you’re the same size, you should totally share! They can go with most anything— from jeans to leggings to dresses. Also, don’t forget to wear your knee-high socks underneath so they peak out the top of the boot for a fun, sleek look. If you’re more of a booties gal, try rolling the bottom of your jeans a little when you wear booties so that you can see the whole shoe.

Jewelry

You can’t go wrong with adding a little jewelry to any outfit— sometimes it is just what an outfit needs to look right. Statement necklaces are the way to go for when you have a simple and basic outfit, but want to look more pulled together and sophisticated. For those days when you really want to try something new, try mixing your metal necklaces (so gold, silver, gunmetal, etc.) or layering necklaces for a fun, trendy look to spruce up your outfit. For those outfits that just need a little bling, throw on some rings and an army party (a.k.a. layering watches and bracelets on one arm) to finish the look.

Alright ladies, stop drooling over your roommate’s stuff! It’s time for you to invest in some new things so they can be jealous of your wardrobe! (Just keep an eye on your new stuff.)
