It’s that time of the year again – packing up, saying goodbye, and getting ready to go home for three long months of summer until we come back in the fall. Well, we all have our regrets, and choosing UW-Madison is most definitely one of them after this atrocious, long, agonizing year here. This list perfectly epitomizes in 18 reasons why you most definitely WON’T miss Madison this summer…
1. The Terrace: Who wants to go sit on a dock with their friends and get some sun during a study break? Certainly nobody I know.
2. The food: Thank God we’re escaping Madison’s abundance of restaurants and warm melty cheese curds… and what’s to miss about the food carts lined up on library mall on a nice sunny day? Nothing.
3. The ice-cream: Who would ever miss rich, creamy Wisconsin ice-cream? Especially over the summer, that’s one thing that will not be on my mind.
4. The Capitol: Why would anybody miss taking a nice stroll on a warm sunny day down to the capitol? It’s just a big old white building.
5. Oh, and especially at night. Boy, is that thing ugly.
6. Being a Badger certainly doesn’t mean making life-long friendships. It’s a good thing we wont have any friends to miss while we’re gone.
7. The social scene: out of the many bars on campus and other parties, there’s basically NOTHING to do here on the weekends… I’m sure we all couldn’t be happier to get home and actually have some fun.
8. The view from the top of Bascom Hill, clearly our scenery is sub-par here at UW-Madison.
9. Game Day: There’s nothing fun about getting decked out in red and white (what kind of colors are those…) and waking up early to tailgate so we can cheer on our Badgers… thankfully while we’re home we wont have to do such a thing.
10. And when you arrive at Camp Randall, have you ever seen such a horendeous stadium; seriously where’s the school spirit?
11. State Street: I’m sure we all are anxious to go home and get away from statestreeet, there’s just too many people around and too many things to do on it.
12. The sunrise: nothing beautiful about this.
13. And don’t even get me started on the sunsets… Thank God we’ll be leaving this view soon enough.
14. Bucky, what kind of mascot is a Badger? Definitely won’t miss this fun loveable guy.
15. Our Sports Teams: Nothing exciting about walking down the street and seeing a basketball player who took us to the Final Four… couldn’t be more excited to go home and get out of the fame scene!
16. Also, who likes cheese? No one. No one will miss the cheese.
17. The farmer’s market is a huge no go… who would miss having to trudge down state street just to see a bunch of fresh food and friendly people?
18. The pride, leaving this amazing badger family is going to be the easiest thing to do for 3 months… we might never want to come back.
Well, there you have it. All the dreadful reasons why no body will miss UW-Madison over the summer.
