So here’s the deal: I am a twenty-year-old college student, and after scouring Netflix (in all of my free time) for a new show to watch, I came across the 2000s’ classic Gilmore Girls. Never having had the interest to watch the show before, and not having a clue on what show I should check out next, I decided to give it a shot. I finally understand now what everyone has been raving about all of these years! Though I’ve only made it to the second season, of which I still have to finish watching, I am hooked and have some thoughts that I want to share with other girls to see if they feel the same way I do!
1. I relate way too much to Lorelai and Rory’s mother-daughter relationship. It’s as if the producers came to my house, observed my mom and me, and then wrote our interactions with each other into the show.2. I want to go to Luke’s diner SO badly! The food always looks delicious there!
3. Speaking of Luke, we could all tell from season one that Luke was enamored with Lorelai from the beginning. 4. Though Max could have been a great step-father for Rory, I am still Team Luke, sorry Max!5. Max and Lorelai’s engagement party was definitely extra, I mean it was really cool and elaborate, but like how? How was it even possible to have such an over-the-top party?!6. Dean used to be on the top of my list as best guy for Rory to date, but as I am nearing the end of season two, I have come to realize how controlling and obsessive he is with Rory. It’s gross to watch. 7. WHY DID JESS HAVE TO LEAVE?! I think that Rory could have changed him for the better, calmed down his bad boy impulses a little, inspire him to go to college or even just graduate high school.8. There was a moment there in the middle of season two when I thought that Emily and Richard were going to get a divorce….and I think Lorelai was thinking the same thing!
9. I hate how everyone blames Jess for the car accident and breaking Rory’s arm, come on guys, get over it, not everyone is perfect.10. I think Rory and Paris are a lot alike, which is why they butt heads so much. They are BFFs in the making.
I am excited to finish season two as well as the rest of Gilmore Girls. So much has happened in only two seasons alone, and I can’t imagine what more could happen in the rest of the show as well as in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life!
