Top 5 Halloween Costumes I Will Definitely be Stealing for Next Year

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Wisconsin chapter.

It’s time for the post-Halloweekend debrief.

When you are a college student, Halloween is not just a day. It is an entire Halloweekend worth of costumes and celebrations. I mean, who doesn’t love getting dressed up in cute costumes and hanging out with their friends? But this Halloween, people really stepped up their costume creativity and I saw some of the best costumes yet. If you want to really bring it for next Halloween, it’s time to begin brainstorming for next year. To help you out, here is a list of some of my favorite costumes I saw this year (which I will definitely be stealing for next October) and how to achieve the look.

1. Vector and Minions

Vector: Orange Jumpsuit/tracksuit, black glasses and a fake squid launcher.

Minion: Denim overall shorts, yellow crop top, lab goggles and bonus points for a fake banana.

2. Female Magic Mike

Boxers, baggy jeans or cargo pants, white tank top, tie, baseball hat, handcuffs and fake cash.

3. Gold Digger

Gold mini skirt, gold shirt, construction (miner) hard hat, gold chains, fake cash and bonus points for a plastic gold shovel.

4. Snow Miser, Heat Miser and Santa

Snow Miser: Blue corset, white skirt and any “snowy” accessories you can find!

Heat Miser: Red corset, orange skirt and any “fiery” accessories you can find!

Santa: “Mrs. Claus” miniskirt and top Santa hat and black leather boots.

5. Taylor Swift Eras

Red Taylor: Black fedora, red Converse, black denim shorts, heart sunglasses and the iconic “Not a lot going on at the moment” shirt.

Country Taylor: Denim skirt, white shirt and of course cowboy boots and hat.

Reputation Taylor: Sparkly black bodysuit, black tights, combat boots and snake jewelry.

While I’m sure that not everyone is already planning for next Halloween on November 1 like I am (I’m crazy, I know), it can’t hurt to start getting inspired. I suggest making a list in your Notes app to add to any time you see a costume you like, whether it be at a party, in a TikTok, or in a movie you love. It is never too early to be in the Halloween mindset and we are absolutely going to kill the costume game next October!
