Well, Badgers, the time is upon us. The holiday break is right around the corner, but first we all must survive finals. As an ode to the struggle that is finals week, here is a twist on a holiday favorite.
‘Twas the night before finals and all throughout Madtown,
Not a Badger was sleeping, no time to lay down;
The papers were typed and stapled with care,
In hopes that an ‘A’ would soon be there;
The students were napping using tables as beds,
While visions of passing danced in their heads,
Pajamas all day and pajamas all night,
We’ve prepared our brains for a long mental fight;
When inside of College there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my chair to see what was the matter.
Right by the window I saw the cause of alarm
She tore up her paper and threw up her arms
The look on her face and bags under her eyes
Showed the stress of exams as she started to cry;
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But surely the cause of those many, many tears
With atoms, elements, reactions, and more
I knew in a moment it must be Chem 104;
More rapid than rivers her tears began to flow,
When a brave police officer approached, voice low.
“Candy?” he asked, revealing a brown paper bag
With great relief, his shoulders began to sag
As the girl looked up gratefully, her tears almost dry
The whole room cheered and kissed the near-crisis goodbye
Turning back to my notes, I let out a groan
When this week is over, I can finally go home
Reading the pages, my eyes started to twitch
I questioned my major, is it too late to switch?
I put in my headphones, turned on 1D
And took another sip of my now cold coffee
And sighing again, I picked up my book
Still wondering why I took the classes I took
But soon finals will be over and time to rest
I hope my parents know that I’m trying my best
And so now to all of Madtown I speak
Good luck to all, and happy finals week!
We hope reading this gave you a nice break from studying…now get back to it!
