The most talked about, high-end eye shadow palette is Urban Decay’s Naked Palette. I’ve had the pleasure of using it once myself and have gone in many times to test the colors. I have no complaints about the palette. Though, I do have a complaint about the price though. Drug store make up brands have started improving their formulas and are becoming competition for department store brands.
Due to its extreme success many brands have released their own versions of it.
My daily palette is Nyx’s Wicked Dreams palette. It’s not an intentional substitute for UD, but it gets the job done and gives a lot of variety with neutrals, shimmers, and mattes. (Swatches and reviews here)
Nyx Nude on Nude Natural Look Kit is an obvious dupe. It also includes two lip colors.
Another popular drug store brand Wet N Wild has several dupes for the Naked palette already in their eye shadow collection. These come cheaper and with more variety, but aren’t packed together in an easy to carry way.
MUA is a UK brand that not only has a dupe for Naked 1, but for Naked 2 as well. It’s £3.00, which is a little under $5. Shipping to the US is around $12 since its international, but still less than the Naked.
Overall, I wouldn’t be afraid to give any of these a try. Whether you’re looking for a splurge or save, any of these colors would be a great addition to your collection.
