Ah yes, it’s finally fall. Arguably one of the best seasons for fashion. And just in case you’ve gotten tired of pumpkin spice everything, here’s a different list of fall favorites for you.
(Just a disclaimer: these are not the only trends out there. Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and create your own trends! There is no “right” or “wrong”).
- Jewel Tones
-
I honestly really like jewel tones and I think it’s a trend that goes under appreciated. Really deep blues, greens and burnt oranges are some of my favorite colors to wear during the fall.
- Collared Shirts Under Sweaters/Sweatshirts
-
Especially with oversized sweatshirts and sweaters, this can be a great way to spice up an outfit. You can even get fake collared inserts like these ones from amazon if you don’t want to wear the full dress shirt.
- Chunky Gold Jewelry
-
I have always been a sucker for gold jewelry, which is why I’m so glad it’s especially hot this fall. I’ve seen chunky gold rings and necklaces all over Instagram and Pinterest. There’s tons of options on Amazon, Target, Forever 21, etc.
- Business Casual/Blazers
-
This trend makes me feel like I live in NYC and run my own company, which is a far cry from struggling through midterms in Madison. I’ve also found amazing blazers at Goodwill for a lot less than buying at retail stores (& it helps the environment too). Also, shoutout to Viviane Audi in the Instagram post, she’s one of my favorite influencers and her style is A+++. Make sure to check out her account!
- Corduroy
-
I remember wearing corduroy as a little kid, and I can’t believe it’s making a comeback. I’ve especially noticed a lot of corduroy pants. It comes in so many colors, it can be easily dressed up or down and it’s easy to find for any price point. And let’s be honest, if Emma Chamberlain wears it, we’ll all end up wearing it.
Especially with Covid, I’ve found myself taking the smallest opportunities to get up, get ready and put on an actual outfit. Don’t get me wrong, I love my sweatpants and hoodie. But I honestly missed putting outfits together and feeling like I actually have places to go. So, if you’re like me, maybe reward yourself with a few of these staples to spice up your closet.
