After Channing Tatum and Jenna Duwan-Tatum’s appearance on the show, the world was buzzing about Lip Sync Battles and their performances. UW-Madison get ready for your own lip sync battle!
On April 16, Shannon Hall will become the set of the popular show as groups take the stage to compete in Alpha Xi Delta’s philanthropy event, Xi Lip Sync Battle. This week’s Campus Celebrity, Abby Granite, has had a huge role in this event.
1. How did you get the idea for a Lip Sync Battle?
The idea for the lip sync came last semester when I was fortunate enough to volunteer at one for MMSD teachers. It was so fun to see everyone come out and have a friendly competition with amazing performances. I knew I wanted to start an event on campus that would be able to be branded as Alpha Xi Delta’s main fundraiser and with the new lip sync battle show being so popular I thought it would be a great one to get started!
2) What is your fundraising goal?
Our fundraising goal for this year is 7,500 and we have all been working really hard at meeting this goal.
3) How can people get involved?
Getting involved is super easy! All you need to go is head to our registration page and put a team together. We will have an Alpha Xi Delta sister reach out to you and help you get through the next few steps! It cost $10 dollars per person to participate and teams can be have up to 10 participants on them. There are lots of fun prizes if you raise more than that $10 per person as well!
So c’mon Badgers, grab your friends and make a team, or buy tickets to see the show if performing isn’t your thing! Who knows, maybe Beyoncé will show up.
