We’ve all been there. You have an interview across town, and you want to make sure that you impress the recruiter. There’s also 6 feet of snow right in front of your car. It can be incredibly tough to put together an outfit when it’s freezing outside, but you’re in luck. Here are some ideas to put together a look this winter.
Outerwear
This one is actually a lot easier to cover. You can throw on a blazer or even your regular parka. However, if you’re looking to add a more fashionable touch, you could add a trench coat. Not only can you wear a blazer underneath, but you can stay a little warmer.
Tops
The same concept applies to tops. You’re already wearing something on the top, so you don’t have to worry too much. However since it is colder, wearing a long sleeve top might be your best bet especially if you aren’t wearing a cardigan. Keep it classy and try to keep the prints simple rather than busy.Â
Bottoms
This is where you can have some fun if you decided to keep the top simple! Personally, I’m a huge fan of plaid dress pants, and I have gotten a handful of compliments on them. Old Navy/Gap, Kohl’s, and JcPenney are some of the less expensive retailers for dress pants and oftentimes have great sales.
Shoes
Although wearing heels and flats seems like the usual go-to whenever you have to wear anything business, it’s definitely time to venture out. With snow in the way, you could opt for a boot. Avoid suede especially if there’s snow out and make sure to keep the colors neutral if you can. If you’re against the whole boot thing, you could definitely get into the oxford trend and whip those out!
