It’s that time of year again: internship hunting season. At this very moment thousands of undergrads are searching the Internet for internships. No matter if you’re looking for internships in the fashion world or in corporate finance, the quest to find that perfect summer internship is often grueling and emotional.
1. You scour the Internet until you find what looks to be the perfect internship.
2. Which you then realize you’re not qualified for.
3. So you continue your search, bookmarking whatever looks vaguely related to the field you’re interested in.
4. And begin to tweak your resume and write your cover letters.
5. You contemplate what exactly qualifies as a “skill.”
6. And eventually become so desperate that you upload your resume to every job website you can find, wondering if you’ll ever find that perfect internship.
7. After some time you’re contacted for an interview.
8. You stumble your way through the interview, trying your best to seem professional and put-together.
9. You’re shocked when they contact you saying you got the position!
10. And then you realize that the position is unpaid.
