9 Snack Ideas for Halloween

Food is a great opener to any get together or just something fun to create when you’re hanging with friends, or just having a night in for yourself. Halloween it a great time to get plenty of inspiration for food. These snack ideas will be great if you’re throwing a Halloween costume party, hanging with some friends, or just really enjoy themed snacks.

 

1. Gooey Monster Cookies 

Who doesn’t love a great cookie?! This yummy cookie recipe makes delicious sugary cookies which you add food coloring to. And when you add the little candy eyes, these cookies turn into fun, creep treats to serve up (or eat all by yourself!).

2. Marshmallow Pops

These easy to make treats involve dipping marshmallows into melted colored chocolates and adding your own sprinkles. Add a short, thick skewer into the marshmallow to give the snack a “handle” to hold onto while you dip and eat. When together on a plate these marshmallow pops look like witches broomsticks and would be great for a Halloween party.

3. Witch’s Brew Brownies

Need a way to use up Halloween candy before it goes bad? Just love candy and brownies? Like adding candy eyes to your desserts? This recipe is for you! 4. Cheesy Halloween Breadstick Bones

If you prefer something other than desserts, these breadsticks are sure to make your Halloween party or get together themed for this spooky occasion. All you need is pizza dough (store bought or homemade) cut into bone shapes and parmesan and mozzarella cheeses. If you want, add marinara sauce for dipping!

5. “Spooky” Bat-Shaped Cinnamon Sugar Flour Tortilla Crisps

 This simple recipe should be easy to make. Use a cookie cutter to cut shapes (in this case – Bats) out of tortillas. Others could be pumpkins, spiders, or any other Halloween themed cookie cutter you can find. Dip the shapes in melted butter. Then coat with cinnamon sugar. Then bake them.

6. Hotdog Spiders

Hotdogs and crescent dough turn a normal snack into a creepy looking snack. Black sesame seeds give the snack two eyes. Start by cutting crescent rolls into strips instead of pre-cut triangles. Then cut each hotdog in half length-wise. Next, cut each half hotdog into legs, leaving some room uncut in the middle. This is where you wrap the crescent roll strip. Bake until cooked.

7. Rice Krispy Treat Brains

To make this snack you need mini marshmallows, rice krispies cereal, red food coloring and red gel icing, and some butter. Combine ingredients to normally make rice krispy treats adding the red food coloring. Shape into brains. Add red gel icing on top to give it blood.

8. Jack-O-Lantern Mac and Cheese Cups

Who doesn’t love mac and cheese?? This Halloween snack is a simple way to get the Halloween theme you’re looking for. Make whatever mac and cheese you prefer (or buy Wawa mac and cheese). Serve in clear, plastic cups with jack-o-lantern faces drawn on them. Add pieces of cut cucumber in the middle to give your pumpkin a stem (optional).

9. Mini Pumpkin Quesadillas

This is also a simple snack idea. Cut smaller circles out of tortillas. On some circles cut a jack-o-lantern face. Put cheese between an uncut circle and a face circle. Heat up in microwave or oven to melt cheese.
