Your favorite memory from your time here:

I created a 15 minutes autobiographical piece about my experience as an international student on campus. My friend Daniel helped me to edit the music. There was one moment we are both so moved by the music itself and almost started crying. It was such a powerful moment and let me experience the pure joy from my creation of art itself. It also felt great to have someone from a different culture to emphasize with my story and being able to provide moral support selflessly.

Your tips for newcomers to William and Mary:

Try different things on campus and choose 1-3 to stick to. Never be afraid to reach out for help.

What is your favorite thing about William and Mary?

Small class size, Can always find support on campus

If you were President of the College for a day, what would you do?

Host a destress activity and let students reflect on the little moments of happiness in life.

Anything Else You Want to Say:

I’ll be doing an intercultural theater piece as my honor project next semester. Looking for actors, stage managers, designers from different countries. Please contact me at ymiao01@email.wm.edu if interested.
