Over the past 3 years, I have been given the amazing opportunity to be a member of Her Campus at William and Mary, and I cannot imagine what my three years at the College would have been like without it.
I first transferred to W&M in the Fall of my sophomore year, and I was, as many transfers were, anxious to find my footing and adjust to life at William and Mary. Luckily, I had stumbled across some articles online about how WM students decorated their dorms, so I could blend in with the rest of campus. This article happened to be on a site I had never heard of before, HerCampus.com. When I was wandering the booths at the student activities fair, I stumbled across the Her Campus booth and I could not help but jot down my name.
Over the next three years I would see how much Her Campus at William and Mary has given to me. It was not just a space to express my creativity, but it was a place to grow and learn some of my hidden talents. It was not just a place to go for weekly meetings, but a place where I would make friends that I may never have had the chance to meet on campus. It was not just a place to be told what to do and be stuffed in a box, but rather a place where every member had a say and was able to impact the chapter and the campus.
My time with Her Campus has been amazing, and I am simply grateful for every moment I experienced. I am grateful for the older members that came before me, the ones who saw my potential and encouraged me to fulfill it. I am grateful for the new members who believed in my ability to lead and supported my decisions as President.
Her Campus has been an incredible part of my college career, and it is with a solemn heart that I have to say goodbye.
