As students of William & Mary, we can all appreciate a little British invasion, and being the super chic campus that we are, we like it most in the form of style. As of September 10th, The States have been hit with British style in its most accessible form yet! Topshop, the always trendy British brand, has partnered with Nordstrom, the Seattle based department store.
Until now, Topshop has had three locations in the U.S., with stores in New York, Chicago, and Las Vegas, but as of this week, a selection of the brand’s apparel and accessories can also be found in 14 Nordstrom stores across the country, as well as through Nordstrom.com. Now ladiez, this isn’t all about you, 11 of the 14 stores will also carry Topman, the brand’s male equivalent. The partnership, like most things in fashion, is about growth and progress. Topshop’s goal through this process is to acquire a broader view of the U.S. market, and Nordstrom is excited about continually broadening their range of styles.
Both Topshop and Topman are street style focused, with huge runway influences. Their products have shifted heavily from basics to trendy fashion pieces that are sure to spice up everyone’s wardrobe. Try something a little out of your comfort zone, because nothing is going to shake up a mundane weekday like Houndstooth Leggings or a Safari Graphic Sweater. And let’s be honest with ourselves, we’re all dying for a pair of faux leather shorts (seriously though, I want them so badly)!
Unfortunately, Williamsburg is 291 miles away from the closest Nordstrom that is currently selling Topshop. At least for the time being! Therefore, we turn to our friend, the Internet, in our time of need and despair. Retail therapy comes in many forms. There is just something so uniquely soothing about online shopping, especially after you’ve been staring at a word document for longer than you ever imagined. The excitement of European fashion awaits you; it’s just a few clicks away!
