Outsmart the Cold in Williamsburg

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WM chapter.

Sandy is long gone, and all she has left us with is cold weather and broken hearts. Our afternoons spent sun bathing in the Sunken Gardens with an open book, running down DoG Street, and throwing frisbees are dwindling. We are all looking for a place to turn in this time of shifting temperature. Have no fear, because the walls of Williamsburg are welcoming us inside to cuddle and be cozy.

Study

  1. Aroma’s—Great for getting away from campus and treating yourself to something yummy!
  2. The Daily Grind—centrally located, so its great for study dates!
  3. The Bookstore—A good study environment without being too serious you go crazy.
  4. An academic building—It’s an easy place to stay focused and get work done without heading to Swem.  You can always stop by WaWa for coffee or hot chocolate before hitting the books.
  5. Your room—This might not be your first choice, but if you start to lose your mind head to Colonial Williamsburg for a cider break!

Exercise

  1. Run the stairs in your dorm.
  2. Do a quick 10 minute ab workout in your room
  3. Lunge down the hallway
  4. Any body weight exercise: planks, pushups, mountain climbers, etc.

Leisure

  1. Indoor Picnic—Take your buddies to The Cheese Shop to go and bond, spread a blanket out on the floor, and bond with your hall.
  2. Craft!
  3. Write all of your friends, because who doesn’t love getting mail?
  4. Dance party in your room. Make a playlist and jam with your friends!
  5. The most important thing is to enjoy the nice weather while its here, but don’t let the cold weather get in your way!Â
