Campus Cutie: Simon Ranagan
What year are you? 2016
Major? Physics or Economics
Hometown? Bethesda, Maryland
Greatest accomplishment? Other than getting accepted to William & Mary, my greatest accomplishment was taking 12th place at the U.S. Olympic Trials for kayaking.
Interests? What are some activities you do around campus? Some of my interests include reading, playing Frisbee with friends, and watching hockey and football. On campus, I’m vice president of Barrett Hall Council, was a TA for one of the kayaking classes in the Kinesiology department, play intramural sports with my hall, and am currently rushing.
Do you have a talent? My biggest talent is not drinking, but I’m also incredibly talented at making bad jokes.
What’s your idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day date? To me, Valentine’s Day is all about romance, so probably a classy dinner and then going somewhere pretty. Since I live just outside Washington, D.C., I found the National Gallery of Art Sculpture Garden and similar places to be great choices.
Do you have a specific type/what do you look for in a girl? I don’t have a type per se, but a girl in a dress with pretty eyes and a nice smile will always be beautiful to me. In terms of personality, I’ve always liked girls who are both smart and athletic.
