Friday, September 9, from 3 to 7 p.m., thousands of people will be wandering Miller Plaza in search of the the best booths, fine music and whatever free stuff they can get their hands on. Yes, Western, Bronco Bash is again upon us.
“Bronco Bash is just awesome,” remarked Chris Rettich, Administrative Vice-President of Interfraternity Council; “There’s so much free stuff.”
Â
And CAB’s Concert Coordinator Jen Nummerdor added that the headliner, Parachute, will be a major highlight of the evening as well. “They’re incredible,” she added, referencing the indie rock group.
Â
Sporting booths for everything from a host of student organizations and university departments to the City of Kalamazoo, local businesses like Erbelli’s Gourmet Pizza & Pub and Celebration Cinema, and the Michigan Air National Guard. Bronco Bash is a time of year where students and members of the community can gather in Miller Plaza and explore much of what Kalamazoo has to offer and is represented conveniently in one place.Â
 Â
WSA President Erin Kaplan called it “a one-stop shop for information about everything on campus.”
Â
A full listing of the businesses, organizations, departments and others participating in this year’s Bronco Bash can be found here and the booth locations are shown on this map.
Â
Typically speaking, the main hooks of Bronco Bash are informational booths on various activities around campus and Kalamazoo; as well as a cornucopia of coupons. Many of the local businesses give out coupons as part of their Bronco Bash presence. People with coupon books from Campus Special have a tendency to hand said books out to passersby.
Â
One of the bigger draws are the free t-shirts, bags, cups and whatever else people give out, so show up early. And stay late, the musical entertainment is another highlight of the event. Great music has become part of the Bronco Bash experience and this year, that music culminates in a performance by headlining rockers Parachute.Â
Â
Public Relations senior James Stephenson said of Parachute, “There isn’t enough room on their two CDs to contain all their musical knowledge.”
Â
And don’t forget to visit us! HerCampus™ WMU will be at Bronco Bash as well! Booth 196, located between the Miller Parking Structure and the Richmond Center, where we will be covering the event!
