Last year around this time, I wrote the article 17 Goals for 2017. In this article, I will talk about my goals for this upcoming year. I didn’t accomplish all of my goals from last year, so some might be in here. I plan to flourish and thrive in 2018 as much as I can.

1. Take better care of my skin

Okay, I tried last year. I really did, but I slacked. It’s time to use all those face masks from the survival kit!

2. Stop overthinking

I tend to overthink every little thing and every little detail, as many do. I want to break this and think about things carefully but not to an extreme extent.

3. Stop apologizing so much

I can’t help it. I’ve been saying “sorry” for things that were not my fault for as long as I can remember. I bump into a chair and I say sorry. This is a habit that will be hard to break, but I will try my best to work on.

4. Keep up with my planner

I love using my bullet journal (I plan to do an article on this, stay tuned), and I utilized it a lot up until August. In 2018, my bullet journal will be filled with wonderful things and all that I need to do. This will keep me on track and stay on task.

5. Clean and organize more

I’m not a clean freak, I’ll say that. I really need to tidy up my room more often, even if that means wiping now my desk with a wipe a few times a month.

6. Dress up more often

I buy all these cute clothes and makeup, for what? I need to wear and use them. It’s hard to not want to just throw on sweats, but I am going to push myself to look my best. LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD.

7. Listen to my heart

As corny as this sounds, I really need to do it. I need to listen to it and figure out what is right for me and trust that what it tells me.

8. Go to the library more often

I tend to focus more in library, but my dorm building is such a far walk from it. I better bundle up in the cold and just get out of my room!

9. Let go of the past

Of course, it is hard to let go of everything, but I need to let go of the petty things. The little things that I hold a grudge on.

10. Spend my money wisely

    Yeah…..

11. Listen to more music

I love music and it makes me so happy. For some reason this year, I barely listened to music as I used to. I want to bring back that love I have for music.

12. Improve my study habits

I slack sometimes and I need to pull it together. I still need to figure out the best ways that help me study better.

13. Be honest with myself

I lie to myself a lot. I tell myself that it’s okay to be treated poorly or that I feel fine, even when that’s not the case. This needs to stop. I need to accept my situations and agree that certain things are wrong, or even right.

14. Appreciate my friends & family more

I love my friends & family so dearly and I need to show them that more. Whether it’s taking my best friend out to lunch or crafting my sister a gift. I want to show them how much they mean to me.

15. Stop caring as much as I do

I worry so much about what people think of me, what they could be saying about me, what I look like. This needs to change. Of course, I should care about certain things, but I should not worry whether what Jake from SAE, who’s currently failing Intro to Marketing, thinks of me (Thank you Twitter for that reference).

16. Be true to myself

I need to stop comparing myself to girls I see on Instagram or thinking I need to live a certain life, do certain things, and have a certain body. This is something that is hard for me to admit, but it’s the truth. I want to be someone else so often, or at least have certain qualities. I often forget how great I am, and that’s sad.

17. Put myself first

This is simple. I need to worry about myself before others, as selfish as that may sound. My grades are more important than a friend wanting to get a fruit bowl.

18. Make my Her Campus chapter as great as can be!

Being President of the WPUNJ chapter fills my heart with joy and I could not be more excited to take on another year with my team!

Have a happy new year and an amazing 2018!
