Mexican pop-rock band RBD have announced they’ll be going on a reunion tour after months of speculation.

Anahi, Dulce Maria, Maite Perroni, Christian Chavez, and Christopher Von Uckerman posted a video on their Instagram accounts confirming the reunion tour on Monday, December 19. And on Thursday, January 19, they announced the tour dates and locations.

The “Y Soy Rebelde” tour will happen in the United States, Brazil, and Mexico.

This is the first time they’ll be touring in fifteen years.

Their former bandmate Alfonso Poncho Herrera won’t be joining as he’s previously stated he’s more focused on his career as an actor.

RBD became a band after the famous Mexican teen telenovela “Rebelde” (2004-2006) aired on Las Estrellas in Mexico and Univision in the United States. And the band quickly gained popularity across Latin America and the United States.

“Rebelde” reflected heavily on 2000s pop culture from fashion, hairstyles, and music. Lenny Kravitz, the Gorillas, Luny Tunes, and Hilary Duff made cameos on the show.

They released six studio albums “Rebelde” (2004), “Nuestro Amor” (2005), “Celestial” (2006), “Rebels” (2006), “Empezar desde Cero” (2007), and “Para Olividarte de Mi” (2009).

Anahi, Maite Perroni, Christian Chavez, and Christopher Von Uckerman reunited for a virtual concert “Ser o Parcer” in December 2020 and released their song “Siempre He Estado Aqui”.

RBD inspired many Latin artists today. Colombian singer Karol G surprised fans when she invited Anahi to her concert in Mexico to perform the song “Salvame”. She has expressed her love for them on more than one occasion.

Puerto Rican rapper Bad Bunny mentions them in his song with Chenco Corleone “Me Porto Bonito”, “Pa los 2000s yo eschuaba RBD y ahora quiere perreo. Toa’ la noche en la pared.” He also recorded a TikTok of himself singing acapella of the song “Salvame” which went viral. Anahi also recorded herself reacting to the video and she looked very pleased.

Concert tickets will be pre-sale between Tuesday, January 24, and Thursday, January 26. And they’ll officially be on sale on Friday, January 27.
