It is always so exciting finding out that a book you love is being turned into a movie or T.V. show. Finding out who is being cast as your favorite characters is a fun part of this as you get to see if who you imagined in your head as the perfect casting has happened in real life.
Here are a few of the upcoming book to screen adaptations that I am looking forward to!
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes
“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” by Suzanne Collins is a prequel to “The Hunger Games” trilogy. The book follows 18 year-old Coriolanus Snow as he becomes a mentor in the 10th Hunger Games. The events that take place in this book show how Snow became the president he is in “The Hunger Games”.
“The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” is set to be released in theaters on November 17, 2023. It stars Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, the tribute that Coriolanus Snow mentors, and Tom Blyth as Snow.
The Love Hypothesis
“The Love Hypothesis” by Ali Hazelwood follows Olive Smith, who is a biology third-year Ph.D candidate at Stanford University. When Olive gets caught up in a lie that she told her best friend, she ends up kissing Dr. Adam Carlsen, who helps Olive by suggesting that they fake date to keep up the lie Olive told her best friend.
In October 2022, it was announced that Bisous Pictures landed the rights to “The Love Hypothesis”. The movie is in the pre-production phase, so there is no information on the cast, when production will start, or the release date.
The Spanish Love Deception
“The Spanish Love Deception” by Elena Armas is about Lina MartĂn, who lies to her family saying that she has a boyfriend, and has only four weeks to find a date to bring to her sister’s wedding in Spain. Lina’s colleague, Aaron Blackford, who she cannot stand, offers to be her fake boyfriend to deceive her family.

They enter into a forced friendship for the press after they ruined a royal wedding, but it ends up becoming something more than friendship.
Filming for “Red, White & Royal Blue” ended in August 2022, with a release date set for sometime in 2023. The movie will be released on Amazon Prime. It stars Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex Claremont-Diaz and Nicholas Galitzine as Prince Henry. The president, Ellen Claremont, is played by Uma Thurman.

When her wild child ways get her in jail, Piper’s step-father sends her and her sister to Westport, Washington to run their late father’s dive bar, and also cuts Piper off. Here, Piper meets Brendan Taggart, a sea captain, who are immediately at odds with each other, but they do end up falling in love with each other.
