The 94th annual Oscar’s ceremony happened on Sunday, March 27, 2022, at the Dolby Theatre, Hollywood, and Hollywood Highland. Disney’s latest animated film Encanto was nominated for three Oscars including Best Original Song for “Dos Oruguitas” performed by Colombian singer Sebastian Yatra and for Best Original Score. The soundtrack was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda and produced by Mike Elizondo and Germaine Franco.

The film won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature and making them the second Walt Disney film to win this award and represent a Spanish-speaking country, as the film took place in Colombia. Walt Disney and Pixar’s film Coco won the same award back in 2018. The film took place in Mexico representing “El DĂa de Los Muertos”

But it doesn’t stop there! Sebastian Yatra performed “Dos Oruguitas” live at the Oscars for the first time. He represented Colombia with the beautiful aesthetics and decorations resembling the film with two dancers. The cast of Encanto performed the smash hit song “We Don’t Talk About Bruno” alongside singers Becky G and Luis Fonsi and rapper Megan Thee Stallion. An appearance no one saw coming!
