While the 2015 spring semester has just started, I am already hearing the question, “So, what are your plans for after college?” As if my anxiety levels weren’t already through the roof already, now I have to figure out that huge thing I’ve been pushing aside last semester…a job, grad school, travel?
Here are 5 ways that may help you with your final semester blues:
1. Focus on you
This is your last semester in college and why waste your time not giving yourself the attention that you need. Whether this is by trying out a yoga class, keeping a journal, or even buying yourself a mani pedi at the nicest place in town. Everyone needs to do a little soul searching; it will help you figure out the lifestyle you want to live after college.
2. Enjoy yourself
You’ll never be an undergrad again, and that’s a scary thing, figuring that we’re being pushed into the real world. Go to things that you may never had the chance to experience, like WVUp All Night.
3. Be open to opportunities
The first job that may offer you a position might not be the exact thing that you want, but it’s a start. As much as everyone is freaking out about there future, if you have an open mind, it’ll be a lot easier to get through.
4. Create your plan
Even if you may be going to graduate school after college, you’ll need to list some options of where you may want to apply. Or when looking for internships and jobs you need to think of different places you would be willing to live in. Make a Linkedin account and set up your resume on Careerbuilder.com – get your name out there.
5. Find a job
As stressful as your last semester may already seem (as it is for me) landing a position at a job or internship, even getting accepted into graduate school – should be happening before you walk across the stage. By making connections with the right people and taking a little time out of your day to looking, finding a place wont be out of your reach.
