Introduce Yourself!
        – Where are you from?
        – Where do you live now?
        – What do you do?
Â
Hi, All! My name is Beverly Sebold and I am a Physician Liaison at WVU Medicine. I am originally from Deep Creek Lake, MD and currently reside in Morgantown, WV. In between, I’ve also spent time living in Harrisonburg, VA and Baltimore, MD.
I am the eldest of four children, with three younger brothers. I like to think I “paved” the way for them, but I doubt they would agree.

Fun Facts
Â
A lot of people are surprised to hear I grew up on a Dairy Farm. I learned from an early age, the value of hard work. Looking back, I really value this experience, as it helped build the work ethic and drive I have today.
When I was in elementary school, I won a local newspaper “Design an Ad” contest. We were tasked to design newspaper ads for local businesses. This is a little bit nerdy, but I was instantly hooked and began designing ads for fun. I always dreamt of working for a large advertising agency in New York City.

Â
Education
Â
I completed my undergrad at Bridgewater College of VA, with a major in Business Administration and concentrations in Marketing and Management. Post-graduation, I obtained my Masters in Integrated Marketing Communications from WVU; which I highly recommend to anyone interested in advancing their education in this field.

Â
Post-Graduation
Â
During undergrad, I completed a marketing/communications internship with a local hospital system in Virginia. I quickly fell in love with the healthcare space. After graduation, I moved to Morgantown and started working at WVU Medicine. During this time, I decided to pursue my Masters while working full time. I held various positions within the company; starting at the front desk of the Cancer Center. To date, my role at the Cancer Center was the most challenging and rewarding job I ever had. It taught me the value and importance of providing top-notch, quality service. Also, it showed me the impact you have on a patient’s experience, whether or not you hold a clinical or non-clinical role.
A few years later, I found a passion for leadership coaching and industrial psychology. I have been able to carry these skillsets into my everyday interactions. I’ve held multiple positions at various organizations in roles related to adult learning and organizational development.Â

Â
What do you do now?
Â
I am now back in Morgantown and currently work as a Physician Liaison at WVU Medicine. My role is to build and maintain relationships between WVU Medicine and our community providers. I frequently travel to community physicians’ offices in WV, MD, OH, and PA, to promote our specialists and service lines. I also speak with providers regarding their service needs, and help to resolve any issues they may be experiencing.

Â
Most Rewarding Part of Your Job
Â
The most rewarding part of my job is hands down when our community physicians’ share a great experience one of their patients had with WVU Medicine. I also enjoy taking our physicians on the road to speak at other hospital institutions and meet the providers that are sending them patients. This gives the opportunity for both parties to connect face to face. I am always amazed at the power of making a personal connection!
