Dear Freshman Year,
Oh buddy, do we have a lot to talk about. It’s been a while since we’ve last seen each other but I thought it was time for us to catch up. Now I’m not here to apologize for the craziness, tears, and arguments you witnessed but more so to talk about the good times.
For starters, I liked to tell you Thank You. Without you in my life I would have zero to talk about three years later and nothing to compare my mistakes to now. But don’t worry I’ve learned. On that note, thank you for letting me live and learn, A LOT, even when most of the times it seemed as if I was just living and not learning.
You paired me with some pretty great friends too. I never thought a group of 10+ girls could all be friends but strangely enough it all worked out. Now, some have come and gone, arguments here and there but hey that’s life not truly your fault. It’s all an experience.
Thank you for the countless memories too. Chasing after my drunken roommate in her slippers, breaking alarms to sneak boys in, pretending like drunk breakfast was gourmet food, almost breaking my jaw, slumming it to Boreman Saturday mornings and even making sure my one floor mate didn’t get arrested (She said she drove a 2 door Dadisman).
There are many more memories I could discuss and thank you for but I’ll keep it to a minimum. You let me grow as a person and for that I am forever grateful. Leaving high school I probably had no idea what was in store for me but I can honestly say I’m happy with my memories. I couldn’t have imagined leaving the nest any other way.
So once again and a little late, thank you, for being you.
Sincerely,
Graduating Senior
