The ladies of Sigma Kappa, West Virginia University’s Theta Chi chapter, teamed up with the University Police this week. The WVU Police department taught the ladies of Sigma Kappa a basic self defense course and encouraged them to become involved with the university’s P.R.O.T.E.C.T. program. P.R.O.T.E.CT. stands for Personal Response Options and Tactically Effective Counter Techniques. The classes are offered to females only by Campus Police in partnership with WELLWVU. As a member of Sigma Kappa I would like to thank WVUPD again for taking their time to come teach us a few things, and allowing us to take this information and feel more safe in general and here locally on campus.
