I would have never considered myself a runner… and I still don’t exactly now. I think of myself more as a semi-educated athletic person who attempts to run. Recently, I signed up for the Pittsburgh Half Marathon on May 5th of this year. For those of you who don’t know, a half marathon is 13.1 miles. Before I began working out at the beginning of the semester, I could barely run more than a mile and a half at a time. Now, five weeks later, I’m well on my way to running the whole race… or at least most of it.
When you start a new exercise regimen, it’s important to understand the best way to go about training and working out. When it comes to running you have to know how to push yourself and increase your distance in a way that wont strain your muscles or increase your risk for injury. You also have to know what kinds of food will keep your body working to its full potential so you see results and make your goals.
A running schedule helps keep me on the track for success. Pinterest has also helped me create a stable core that in return, helps me run better. Pinterest has so many great boards about fitness and nutrition that I can hardly get enough of it. I’m constantly pinning new exercises everyday that help me target the parts of my body I want to work out. You can also find tons of healthy recipes that will keep you fit, trim and that taste delicious. Start your own boards and cater them to your interests and make sure to spice things up during your workouts!
So take the challenge and make the effort to be a better version of yourself. Setting goals can help keep you motivated and once you start seeing those results you wont want to stop. If you have something to work towards, you’re more likely to stick with it and get healthy. Plus- as women, we love to shop. Getting workout clothes is just another excuse to get some new stuff and look cute. So what are you waiting for? Get started!
