Weather Jokes

This weather over the past week has been a real tease.

We have enjoyed the snow slowing down and starting to melt across campus. We’ve been excited to exchange our arctic tundra parkas for lighter coats. Despite the river that runs through the middle of campus (something must have happened to the magic mystic fountains, because no one had noble dreams of that), we’ve exchanged our tall, sturdy, waterproof boots for our shorter boots and cuter shoes. I’ve already been seeing people in shorts and t-shirts, and I must say, I am excited to join them!

Come this week, though, it’s back to boots and parkas! There is no significant threat for snow, but the temperatures will be diving back down into the upper 20s and mid 30s! What happened, weather? Why are you teasing us with the false promises of warm weather only to drop us like that guy who played our hearts in high school? That’s not cool.

Me: Don’t go breaking my heart. Weather: Let the rain come down and wake my dreams… Me: Here comes the sun, dodododoooo… Weather: Oh, the me outside is frightful… Me: Out came the sun and dried up all the rain… Weather: Let the rain come down, make a brand new ground… Me: *sigh* Weather: *triumphant*

Do you think this cold is getting old? Are you ready for Spring to bring warm weather and sunshine? I think we are all tired of being stuck inside all the time, and while I have greatly enjoyed the warm weather, I’m upset at how big of a tease this weather is. I am ready to go for warm walks. I am ready to walk barefoot through an open field and feel the warm sun beating down on my face. I am ready for cute little dresses and skirts. I am ready for shorts and v-necks and baseball caps.

COME ON, SPRING!

On a different note, enjoy these last few days for those cute warm sweaters and coats before it warms up!
