WARNING: This article contains many horrid puns that will make you scream “boooo” (example #1).
The leaves are changing, the air is becoming crisp, and the pumpkin spice obsession is back in full swing. You know what that means:Â the most pun-derful time of the year has arrived. All of our favorite holidays are quickly approaching, starting with one of my favorites, Halloween. It could be because of all of the candy or the fact that my birthday is the next day, but it could also be all of the fun puns that you can make about it. And when you have so many great puns, you have to find a way to display them. And this, my friends, is where I introduce to you my favorite Halloween DIY: the PUNkin.
Now, I can’t take credit for thinking of this genius idea on my own (although I really wish I had). As I was scrolling through Pinterest one day, they popped up on my feed and I fell in love. I knew I just had to make one (or ten) for myself.Â
Here’s what you’ll need:
- Start off with finding the pumpkin of your liking. If you prefer real pumpkins, visit your local pumpkin patch or grocery store and choose the one that best suits you. If you would rather do without something that could rot and stink up your room, then maybe finding a fake pumpkin at your local craft store would be the better option.
- You can leave your pumpkin alone and skip right to next step, or you can make it a FUNkin and add some paint. Either paint the whole thing one color or add a design, whatever you think will look best.
- Once your paint is dry, pick your pun. Either paint your pun or use a Sharpie to write it.Â
