Get Great Hair Naturally With this At-Home Mask

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at WVWC chapter.

Nothing ruins the new semester like a series of bad hair days. If you’re suffering from short, stringy or heat-damaged hair that simply won’t hold a curl for anything, you can stop the breakage now!

I have a quick and easy hair mask to save your natural texture while lengthening your hair overnight! Yes, I said “overnight.” If you don’t believe me, measure your hair before and after!

All of the ingredients to make this revitalizing mask are easy to find and only cost around $25. I suggest splitting the cost with a friend to make it more cost effective. It also has a high ingredient yield for multiple applications.

From a fun sleepover to a self-care DIY, this mask will give your hair the nourishment it needs. Lets begin!

Ingredient List

Eggs (12 count)

Extra Virgin Olive Oil (25.4 fl oz)

Coconut oil

Shower Cap

Steps

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together 4 tablespoons of EVOO.

  2. Add two eggs, beat.

  3. Measure the length of your hair and record it to test the overnight growth.

  4. Once mixed, apply over a sink. Rub through your hair and scalp thoroughly.

  5. Heat trap your hair with the shower cap for about 30-45 minutes.

  6. Melt five tablespoons of coconut oil in a bowl.

  7. Once time is up, wash out the egg mixture with shampoo.

  8. Cleanse the inside of your shower cap (warning: it will be goopy).

  9. Saturate every strand of your hair with coconut oil. Massage through your scalp and reapply the shower cap.

  10. Let the mask set as you sleep through the night.

  11. Rinse and wash your hair in the morning.

  12. Now measure your length, and see the magic happen!

Enjoy your flawless locks, collegiette!
