It’s that time of the semester again! Congratulations to all who accepted bids and participated in Jump this past weekend. Joining a sorority or fraternity is a pretty big responsibility. At the same time, it can be very rewarding. It teaches you about yourself, and you gain a lot of life lessons and personal connections that you’ll have for the rest of your life.
If you love:
- Philanthropy (the effort or inclination to increase the well-being of humankind, as by charitable aid or donations),
- Making a differences the in world, and
- Secret bonds between sisters and brothers,
you’ve come to the right place.
Sororities at Wesleyan have suites, and they are nice suites. Any time you want to get away from the world for a little while, as a sister, your sorority suite would be the best place to go. While you’re there, you’ll most likely find a sister or two who are just chilling. This time allows you to build personal connections and relationships. If you don’t talk, well… that’s just a quiet room with quiet people, and that doesn’t sound fun (get it?).
Several of the fraternities on campus have houses, which allow fraternity brothers to have deeper, more refined relationships. (These brothers have to deal with and tolerate each other on a daily basis, just like normal brothers do in real life.) It can also be cheaper to live in the houses than to live in the dorms (but you didn’t hear that from me).
A price tag is included, but don’t hesitate at that. These groups have scholarships and payment plans that allow you to make monthly payments at your own pace.
Going Greek will change your life forever. Just make sure you’ve joined for the right reasons.
