Forget the studio. Forget special lighting. Scroll past that thousandth cat photo and feast your eyes on something original: New York Fashion Week inspiration that’s refreshing, void of monotony, and delivered straight to your smartphone, all thanks to Vogue.
Vogue took advantage of social media giant Instagram during the spring/summer 2014 Fashion Week. Photographer Michael O’Neal snapped photos of top models Xiao Wen, Arlenis Sosa, and Hilary Rhoda in various New York City locations to showcase looks from featured designers. No fancy camera needed, either. O’Neal, with guidance from Vogue Creative Digital Director Sally Singer, used only an iPhone.
Singer rightfully noted Instagram as “the morning coffee of Fashion Week,” suggesting that “it’s the thing [fashion lovers] wake up to and they thing they go to bed to.” Here are a few photos from the high profile shoot.
Wen takes a break in Reed Krakoff, Manolo Blahnik, Vince, and Altuzarra outside a barber shop.

Sosa spends the day in J. Crew and Adidas. Shopping, Poodles, and ice cream sweeten the day.
