Meet Bre Scott, Wesleyan fashionista extraordinaire!
As a junior public relations major, Bre’s schedule is hectic enough as it is. In addition to writing countless press releases and mission statements for her PR classes, Bre also works part-time at the new Buffalo Wild Wings in town. Despite being perpetually exhausted from work and studying, Bre still manages to put herself together each morning before class. She can almost always be found wearing outfits that are both fashion forward and that include some of her own personal touches, thereby giving her a style all her own.
Q: What are some of your favorite looks this spring?
A: My favorite looks definitely involve fun patterns and colors. Pinstripes and funky prints are so in right now and I adore them!
Q: How would you describe your sense of style?
A: Above all else my “style” is definitely causal with preppy and bohemian influences.
Q: Where do you typically shop?
A: I spend all of my extra cash online shopping at Forever 21, American Eagle, and Charlotte Russe.
Q: How has your style changed over the years?
A: I’ve certainly come to appreciate fashion more! I finally ditched the T-shirts and sweats so that I can present myself in a more structured, put-together way.
Q: In your opinion, why is fashion important—even in college?
A: “Look good, feel good, do good.” That’s the motto I try to dress by each morning. As easy as it is to just throw on whatever sweatpants are on the floor, taking time to craft an outfit each day gives me a boost of confidence and makes me feel like the adult I’m supposed to be.
Q: Is there anything in your closet you can’t live without?
A: Do I have to pick one? A piece from my closet I absolutely couldn’t live without is my studded cheetah print cardigan, a Forever 21 steal. It’s edgy and fun and is the perfect print to pair with flowers or stripes; I’m all for mixing and matching prints!
Q: What advice would you give to your fellow collegiettes about style?
A: Personally, I think style is about what feels right for you, your body and your budget! Wear what you want and don’t get too tied down with trends or keeping up with the runway! Also the more colors, the merrier; spring is all about being vibrant and bright, so shouldn’t your clothes be, too?
