7 Superb Reasons to Watch the Great British Baking Show

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Xavier chapter.

If you’ve ever thought about watching the Great British Baking Show on Netflix but just haven’t gotten around to it, I’m here to convince you to binge watch it right now! This show offers way more than just delicious sweets…here are some of my top reasons to start watching now.

Lots of loveable (and unlovable) contestants

There are so many lovable contestants to make you laugh, cry, and smile through each episode. Even the unlovable ones are a great component of the show– what would be the fun in a show without Terrys? GET IT TOGETHER, TERRY!

Lots of silly British slang

You’ll be absolutely chuffed by all these British words! Your fav contestant being sent home, however, will leave you gutted.

Sandi and Noel

These two are truly the stars of the show! Hot take, but anyone who came before them is nowhere near as fun, spunky, punny, and lovely.

Lots and lots of amazing food

The contestants on this show are so. Freaking. Talented. If their bakes taste as good as they look… then Prue and Paul must be in judging heaven.

Prue’s colorful outfits

I want to be as hip as this woman when I’m older! If the contestants’ bakes ever lack color, Prue is sure to make up for it with some colorful accessories.

Paul’s icy blue eyes

Truly the bluest, coldest eyes you’ve ever seen. He’s definitely the harsher of the two judges, but deep down I know he’s a big softie.

Lots of quality hilarity

This show is the perfect pick-me-up when you’re feeling down because it’s so sweet and silly! Every shot of Noel and Sandy goofing off or of a contestant sincerely (but pathetically) getting through a bake is sure to make you smile.
