So tell us about Camp!Â
Okay, so last summer (and this coming summer too) I was a counselor at Camp Echo in Burlingham, New York, which is about an hour and a half outside NYC. I was the counselor for 15 fifth grade girls, so think nine to ten year olds. It was such an incredible experience. Camp Echo is the best place on earth. I’m serious, I loved it!
What was the most challenging part?
The most challenging part is the long days. We do so much that you don’t realize how tiring it is! Our days are so full; it can be physically and emotionally exhausting. We have to tend to their every need, which is challenging.
What was your favorite part?Â
I can’t pick just one part! I loved my time there working with the girls. I made some incredible friends from around the world and I can’t wait to go back this summer and do it all over again. It was just a really rewarding job.Â
What does everyone needs to know about Camp and being a counselor?
It is a wonderful experience! You have little girls looking up to you, and you build special relationships with each of them. You meet people from all over the world and in two quick months you go from strangers to great friends. You get to try new things that push you out of your comfort zone and get to explore new places too! I would definitely recommend it!
