Pure Romance is a big name in Ohio. For those who don’t recognize it, Pure Romance is a business started by Patty Brisben from her home in Ohio in 1993. While best known for their sex toys, Pure Romance also provides sexual health education, must-have beauty products, and bedroom accessories. Parties are educational, empowering, and entertaining. Consultants with Pure Romance run their own business (much like Avon, Mary-Kay, and other consultant operated companies) allowing them the freedom to make money on their own terms.
Knowing that Pure Romance doesn’t just strive to sell toys but to educate women as well, and that it’s a female owned company, I decided to host a party with a referred consultant. I invited all of my friends to attend, supplied food and wine, and we all gathered in my apartment for a night of hands-on experiences with toys, lingerie, sex accessories, and body care items for men, women, and couples.
Our consultant Elizabeth was energetic, excited, and more than ready to show us all of the wonderful products that Pure Romance had to offer. A table was set up in my living room with a multitude of items on display. Before the presentation we were given wish lists to keep track of everything we were interested in, and played an icebreaker to get everyone in the PR mood. She engaged us with commentary about the items, passed them around for us to feel and mess around with, and even had us sample flavored lube. During this time we also played games to keep the energy flowing.
At the end of the presentation, everyone was given time to ask questions and plan purchases. We then spent time talking, drinking, and eating while one person at a time spoke with Elizabeth in a private room. Another perk? All orders are confidential so there’s no reason to be embarrassed.
I was the last person to order because as a host, I received 30% off and points towards purchasing products from what the other girls had ordered. The rewards alone are a great reason to host a party (but let’s be real, being surrounded by friends while talking about sex toys is a really strong reason too).
The party started early at 7 and lasted a few hours. It’s the perfect event to throw to enjoy friends and still get to bed early.
