Fall is finally among us!
Time to rock campus with some fabulous Fall Fashion!
Designers have already presented their experimentations with new materials and bold silhouettes for this Fall at the fashion shows in March. However most of us only start thinking about what to wear and what new it-pieces to acquire for the season as the temperatures slowly creep below the 60s and the leaves gradually turn to beautiful red and yellow shades. This is why I have given you here a short list of the top hot trends to pull off this fall.
First of all why should we all love Fall? In my view, the months from September through to November mark the probably most variant season in terms of fashion. It is still warm enough to wear cute skirts and dresses, but at the same time you have the opportunity to pimp up your outfit with cozy sweaters, stylish coats and jackets. Also, because snow hasn’t set yet, it is possible to wear all types of footwear, from sneakers, ballerinas over heels and boots.
The general vibe I got from the runway shows this past March was the tendency towards bold and kitschy 60s patterns and mini-skirts in A-line style as well as a huge emphasis on oversize knitwear (very comfortable!), extreme turtlenecks and sweaters with fair isle prints. Another noticeable feature was the tendency towards more wearable streetstyle looks. Best example: Chanel’s much celebrated show against a supermarket backdrop with the models wearing sneakers and baggy pants (yes, even Chanel embraces the comfy side of fashion).

Céline, Stella McCartney, Marc Jacobs, Haider Ackermann (all Fall ’14)
And now here are some suggestions for knitwear that won’t blow your budget:

Another important trend worth mentioning is the increasing show of hats among the most famous fashion bloggers, such as Chiara Ferragni (www.theblondesalad.com) or Tavi Gevinson (www.rookiemag.com). Why should all follow this trend? Hats make every outfit immediately interesting and let us look like coming straight from the runway and the additional benefit: they help us out on every bad hair day ;))
Fall is also the season where you might start feeling cozying up in fur. While this is probably the most controversial textile in fashion industry, there is always the option of fake fur, which equally adds instant glamour to your outfit. This can be done in many different ways such as wearing a fur-hooded jacket, a fur vest or even a fur coat. The important thing to remember when wearing fur is that the rest of the outfit should be held down, without any ruffle or wild patterns. You don’t want to seem overloaded.
Here are some nice faux fur options:
