Murder, mystery and trepidation, that will send shivers down your spine. If you haven’t seen TNT’s latest show, The Alienist, then I suggest you do. A boy is murdered in the streets of 19th century New York which strikes a series of events that will leave you questioning who the killer really is. The show is based on Caleb Carr’s book, The Alienist.
Still deciding on whether to watch the show? Well, here are three reasons why you should be watching:
Luke Evans
You may know him from the recent live action film of Beauty and the Beast where he played the dashingly handsome, Gaston. Or, you may know him more as the rugged, Bard from The Hobbit. Evans plays John Moore, a crime reporter who likes to visit brothels.
Daniel BrĂĽhl
Some may know him as the villain, Zemo, from Captain America: Civil War. BrĂĽhl plays Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, a psychologist or “alienist” trying to comprehend the ways of a murderer. However, something seems a bit odd about the character he plays. Are his patients’ peculiarities rubbing off on him?
Dakota Fanning
Fanning plays snarky and sarcastic, Sara Howard, a secretary working for the New York City Police Department. She’s not afraid to voice her opinion whenever it seems fit.
If you’re still debating on whether to watch, I suggest you start with one episode and binge watch the rest from there.
