I’ve never been a fan of The Bachelor or The Bachelorette franchises. I, personally, believe that the whole concept of the show is insane – the fact that people believe that they can go on TV and find love isn’t something I believe can actually happen.
But crazier things have happened, I guess. There are some couples that have stuck it out and proved the world wrong, right?
It was reported today by ETOnline that Minnesota Representative Drew Christensen signed a bill banning Bachelor Arie Luyendyk Jr. from the state. You may be wondering what he did that caused a Minnesota representative to draft a bill banning him from an entire state.
As you may already know, Arie blindsided Becca Kurfin when he retracted his proposal to her, only to turn around and propose to runner-up, Lauren Burnham. The reason that Representative Christensen felt obliged to do is because Becca is from, where?! MINNESOTA!!!
Rep. Christensen tweeted on Monday that he would author the bill that would eventually ban Arie from Minnesota if he got 1,000 retweets – he succeeded.
Yesterday, he tweeted two photos of the bill with his signature on Twitter saying, “I’m a man of my work – here’s the bill banning Arie. #TheBachelor #mnleg”
As for Arie, he explained that the reason he decided to air his breakup with Becca was because, as Emily Krauser of ETOnline wrote, “he wanted ‘no questions on that breakup.”
To me, it seems pretty selfish to just throw out something like this on national TV, but whatever helps you sleep at night, Arie.
No matter what anyone says led to the breakup, one thing is for sure…Arie Luyendyk Jr. can never go to the state of Minnesota.
