Snapchat is one of the fastest growing social media apps this year and the best way to share pictures with your friends. While there are so many ways to use it for good, there’s also a lot of room for things to go wrong. Why not learn how to use the app the best way possible and avoid some Snapchat snafus as well?
DO: Post pictures of you having fun with friends on the weekend, that’s what Snapchat is for!
DON’T: Post pictures of you having TOO much fun. Seriously, do you want to regret everything you post the next morning?
DO: Post cute selfies for your crush to see because let’s be real, you definitely added them.
DON’T: Put up nude or “sexy” pictures. Sure, you’ll get lots of attention, but not the good kind.
DO: Make a “story” of events that happen throughout the day, especially if it’s weird or funny!!
DON’T: Have your story be more than a minute long. Nobody likes having to click through 50+ snaps of you “studying” in the library.
DO: Use Snapchat to share a fun experience or trip, it’s a good way to share with your friends without constantly text pics
DON’T: Use Snapchat to “humblebrag” about how great your life is, your BFF won’t love your constant pics “complaining” about how boring the beach is on spring break while they’re stuck doing homework or working.
DO: Take a few awkward selfies or weird pictures or yourself, everyone loves a good laugh!
DON’T: Make fun of strangers, yes, that girl walking ahead of you may be wearing pink bunny slippers to class but that doesn’t mean you can secretly take a pic just to laugh at her.
DO: Add funny captions and drawings, not only does it make your friends laugh, but it also helps everyone understand the picture.
DON’T: Post random pictures with no explanation. Sure, everyone gets that it’s a picture of a roll of duct tape…but WHY…?
