I previously mentioned in my last written article that I bought a ukulele over the semester break. I’ve always wanted to buy and learn how to play, but I was always so afraid. Looking back, I have realized that my thought process was insanely stupid because I absolutely love it!
For one thing, it’s super easy to learn
With only having four strings, versus the guitar and it’s six, learning chord formations is a breeze, even without having prior musical ability.
Beginner ukuleles are also really cheap.
I got mine through Amazon for just under $50, which is really good price for a Soprano uke. (I’ll link it down below – note this is NOT a sponsor)
Basically, I’ve developed more of a social life
No, really. I bring my baby everywhere I go. If the mood goes down in my friend group, I’ll just strum a few chords and automatically my friends and I are laughing and smiling again. As well as that, everyone in my dorm knows me as that “ukulele girl” and I am alright by that!
To sum it all up, I just really love having an instrument like this in my life. It’s a good hobby for me to pick up, and I find it to be an awesome stress reliever after a long day of classes.
(Link to the specific ukulele I have – it’s a Makala Dolphin Baby Blue Soprano. Check it out if you’re interested! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003766KSA/ref=psdc_11971501_t2_B0037CMDE4)
