Another royal child has been born! Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomed their third child together on April 23, 2018, at 11:01 at St. Mary’s Hospital! Their two other children were also born at the same hospital. They first announced the pregnancy back on September 4, 2017. The 8 pound 7-ounce baby boy was given the name Prince Louis Arthur Charles, proving true to their word to give their son a “strong” name. The news came four days after the birth in a statement on Friday, April 27 from Kensington Palace!
In case you forgot Louis’s adorable siblings, they include Prince George Alexander Louis (4 years) and Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana (2 years). The name Louis holds great meaning in the royal family and means “renowned warrior” in French. It is thought to likely be a tribute to Prince Phillip whose grandfather shared the name. However, it was definitely an unexpected choice to the public seeing as it is part of their oldest son’s moniker. It would also appear that the rumors of the royal website accidentally revealing the name to be “Albert” were wrong.
Nonetheless, congrats to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on their new addition to the family!
