Female Canadian Athletes Who Have Won a Medal in Pyeongchang

The 2018 winter Olympics have been so much fun to watch! Team Canada did great and we should all be proud of our athletes. Our female athletes worked so hard and did their best, which earned many of them a spot on the podium and a medal. Here are Canada’s female athletes who have won a medal at this year’s winter Olympics.

Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris

Kaitlyn and John won the gold medal in mixed doubles for curling.

Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir

Tessa and Scott are one of the best ice dancers of our generation. They perform their routines with such beauty, grace and a ton of chemistry. Tessa and Scott skated so perfectly that it won them their third Olympic gold medal.

Team Canada – Figure Skating

Team Canada won the gold medal in the team event for figure skating. It involved the incredibly talented Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Gabrielle Daleman, Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford, Patrick Chan, and Kaetlyn Osmond.

Cassie Sharpe

Cassie Sharpe performed excellently at this year’s Olympics and she skied her way to a gold medal in the women’s ski halfpipe.

Kelsey Serwa

Kelsey did so great at the women’s ski cross event for freestyle skiing and she brought home a nice gold medal to prove it.

Justine Dufour-Lapointe

This year Quebec’s Justine Dufour-Lapointe won a silver medal in the women’s moguls for freestyle skiing.

Laurie Blouin

Laurie Blouin won the silver medal for the women’s slopestyle in snowboarding.

Team Canada – Hockey

Our wonderful women’s hockey team won the silver medal this year. Although it was a bit of a loss to the USA team, the ladies on this team worked so hard and played really well nonetheless.

Brittany Phelan

Brittany was awarded the silver medal for the women’s ski cross event for freestyle skiing.

Kim Boutin

Kim Boutin has won 3 medals at these winter Olympics in the ladies’ speed skating. She got a silver medal for the 1000m, a bronze medal for the 500m and another bronze medal for the 1500m.

Alex Gough

Alex won a silver medal in the team relay race for luge with her teammates Sam Edney, Tristan Walker and Justin Snith. She also won a bronze medal for the women’s singles event for luge.

Meagan Duhamel and Eric Radford

Meagan and Eric crushed it at the pairs figure skating event and got a bronze medal while making Canada proud.  

Kaillie Humphries and Phylicia George

These ladies won a well-deserved bronze medal in the two-man women’s bobsleigh.

Kaetlyn Osmond

Kaetlyn gave such a beautiful performance at her short dance and free dance which earned her a bronze medal in figure skating.

Hopefully our wonderful athletes will do just as great, or even better, at the next winter Olympics!
