Connecting with your “higher self” allows you to tap into your inner wisdom and intuition so you are able to think with an open mind and process all of your thoughts. The “higher self” is associated with conscious, intelligent being, eternal, and being true to yourself.

The “higher self” can be determined as an inner guidance that is separate from our decisions and our personality; it is the universe within us that dictates our personal experiences with our beings. We can experience our inner selves through symbols, dreams, meditation and our imagination.

Your “higher self” knows a lot about you and inspires your inner creativity to bring you peace. Being able to connect with your soul and mind allows you to think clearly and make the right decisions for yourself. Your inner self allows you to make logical decisions and learn how to deal with emotions and conflicting logics.

Being able to focus on your inner self also allows you to heal in every aspect and be happy from within. Happiness comes from the inside and if you’re connected to your inner introspection, you may feel more at peace.

One effective way to get in touch with your “higher self” is meditation. Meditation increases vibrational frequency, which may enable you to feel love, gratitude, and tune into your body to receive guidance. Meditation can also give you a sense of calm and peace that will help with your physical and emotional well being. Calming yourself allows you to be in the present moment and guide your stress elsewhere.

When you are not taking care of yourself, feeling low, feeling disempowered, or in poor health, meditation is a good way to connect to the present moment. We often start dwelling on our past and worry about our future, not knowing that certain things are beyond our control. Meditation helps us connect to our whole breath and practice exercises that allow us to be healthy and stay rooted.

To start with a meditation practice, get into a comfortable chair or sit on the floor and make sure you are not disturbed. Turn the lights off and make sure you are in a quiet and clean space around you. Close you eyes and become aware of the sensation inside of you, moving a little forward and back to notice how the sensation shifts in your body. Notice the air around you, the temperature, and focus on breathing slowly in and out. Now move your attention on your breath – don’t block out any thoughts, allow them to come through but keep focusing on your breath. Next, take your attention to your emotions. Feel your emotions come and go and try not to get overwhelmed by them. If there is no emotion present, keep practising your breathing and focus on the sound of breathing. Now bring attention to your body and the sensation of muscles, feel where you are sitting and notice the sounds round you. Slowly bring back the movements and stretch your legs and arms while opening your eyes and reflect on how you feel.

Intentional writing is another example of how to receive guidance. Write down your feelings, thoughts and opinions. Ask yourself questions and see if you receive the answers to your questions. Writing allows our brain to flow and be more focused after jotting down our thoughts and putting them in front of us.

In our everyday lives, we are full of distractions – work, school, household chores, relationships, mental health or other tasks. But if you connect with your higher self, you can get clarity on a lot of things and approach them with a calmer mind. If you are not focusing on yourself, you may feel frustrated and guilty and with situations you face, causing you to get frustrated. Therefore, tuning in with yourself even for 5 minutes before you start with your day will help you be calm against the challenges you may face. Tuning in with yourself can include saying daily affirmations, setting intentions for the day or practicing gratitude. If you tune in and listen, your higher self will always allow you to follow in the direction of where you need to be.

Communicating with your higher self can also help you have a healthy body and mind. When you connect yourself through meditation or writing, it may reduce anxiety, stress, and depression. It helps you in establishing a more peaceful connection to the world and being more optimistic. This allows you to see things from a different perspective and through vibrational frequencies, help face distractions and heal.

It is also very important to set time aside to do things you enjoy such as reading, writing, yoga, working out, cooking, or painting. It is a good way to wind down from our busy schedules and spend some alone time. This will help your mind be more focused and increase dopamine while you’re participating in things you find pleasurable. When you take care of yourself, you automatically feel good about yourself and want to create a better version of yourself.

The more you connect with your higher self, the less your ego will play a part in your life. You are able to make better decisions and your subconscious mind will store beliefs and values and help you be more aware in your life. Your subconscious mind allows you to reach your emotions and thoughts in an effective manner.

It is really important to connect with our higher selves because it allows a higher consciousness that opens up our minds and makes us more positive. It allows us to detach from negative thoughts, feelings and emotions and instead focus on the positive side of things to make us kinder to ourselves and empathetic.

You can learn through the process on how to take care of your emotions in a smart way and approach things with a different mindset. It allows us to look within ourselves to trust what we feel and focus on the bright side of things.

Through our spiritual self, we can also focus on our physical body. We can connect our emotional and physical well-being and wake up day to day with a different approach in mind. We have more clarity and are able to acknowledge faster and come to terms with our body and mind.

Through meditation, we can explore within ourselves and see the sunlight because after every tunnel there is light and hope for something new. When we are more at peace and healing it allows us to better ourselves and pay attention to our surroundings in a more approachable manner.
